You Make Me Feel Like Dancing
Last night I thought about how I never dance anymore. In college I would be out on the dance floor at every party and low-key club we could find. I swore I would never be able to fall in love with a man who didn’t dance (probably because senior year I dated a man who never ever danced.) But then Danny came along and I didn’t mind that we never went dancing anymore like Maggie and I and all our friends used to do. I guess because it was partly done to feel attractive and meet guys, but it was also just plain fun. So I love it at weddings when Danny has a few drinks and starts dancing. It’s a rare delight and I relish it. I don’t feel as comfortable dancing as I used to, perhaps because these days I am always around family members when the groove starts bumpin’, but it does still give me a rush. So I can’t wait for all the weddings coming up because it means two things: 1) I get to booty dance with my boyfriend and 2) I get to slow dance with my boyfriend.
Couples, what’s “your song”? Our’s is At Last and a little bit The Way You Look Tonight.

I will booty dance with you Meglet! The MRTs’ song is “Waltz Across Texas” by Ernest Tubbs. It was the recessional at our wedding.

Oh I forgot we sort of have the song “It Had to Be You” also. Whee.

This will date us, but our song is “These are Days” by 10,000 Maniacs (Natalie Merchant). She sort of sunk into obscurity, huh? We didn’t play it at our wedding because we had a country band - we thought that might sound a little funny.

No way Petie. I, too, enjoyed 1994.

Yeah, good times (although, I’m not one of these people that would choose to go back to high school.) It’s just that our song isn’t a timeless classic.
Danny/Chris ~ you guys like looking up stuff, what did happen to Natalie Merchant? Does she still sing?

I hate to make this the Petie/MaryT comment board, but yes, Natalie Merchant has a solo career and is actually not obscure at all. I hope it doesn’t mean I’m lame because I buy all her cds. Tigerlily anyone? Ophelia?
