Hmmm

When Danny and I watched Closer about a year ago, I thought it was thought-provoking. When we watched Garden State, I thought it was beautiful (coincidence that Natalie Portman is in both.) Now, I watched Garden State again last week and it made me SO depressed. What a sad, sad movie! Right now I am watching Closer and it’s disturbing. Not thought-provoking. These people are reprehensible. Maybe because I have seen it already I can watch them more closely, but, damn.

Movies are depressing me lately. Even Love Actually.

    I really liked Garden State - need to see it again, actually - but I thought Closer was a hunk of crap. We call it “Porn for the Blind” at our house.

    Okay, dude, it’s you. I have seen Love Actually like 800 times and there’s just nothing depressing about your uncle Bill, lobsters in the nativity play, Hugh Grant as the prime minister or Colin Firth in general.

    I wanted to say what MaryT said, but … well, now that Mary said it I don’t have to!

    And though at first the Colin Firth storyline is depressingly blah, it really ends up being very good, so yeah there’s nothing depressing.
